I’ve crossed continents and immersed myself in countless cultures, yet these four corners of the world remain etched in my memory. They are more than just destinations; they are the benchmarks of what I believe a curated travel experience should feel like.
Egypt: Cairo, Marsa Alam & The Red Sea
Egypt is a destination that captivates through its immense history and astronomical precision. Standing before the Great Pyramids of Giza and the limestone monolith of the Great Sphinx is a humbling reminder of ancient mastery. From the vibrant energy of Cairo’s historic souks to the serenity of a sunset sail upon the Nile, the country seamlessly weaves the golden echoes of the past with a rich, Mediterranean-inspired present.
The adventure continues beneath the surface in the crystal-clear depths of the Red Sea. My experience on a seven-day liveaboard—completing 21 dives and over 18 hours underwater—uncovered a world of vibrant reefs and the magic of a massive dolphin superpod. From the quiet opulence of the coast to the private allure of the desert dunes, Egypt offers an immersive journey defined by timeless elegance and profound discovery.
Spain: Tenerife, Canary Islands
Tenerife is a "mini-continent" of striking elegance and raw natural beauty. Known as the Island of Five Worlds, it allows for a profound sense of discovery, where you can traverse the lunar-like volcanic peaks of Mount Teide and misty laurel rainforests before descending to the sun-drenched Costa Adeje. It is a destination where dramatic vertical cliffs meet the refined luxury of a coastal promenade.
What makes this island exceptional is its seamless balance of sophisticated relaxation and untamed wilderness. Whether navigating the rugged Masca Gorge Trail or enjoying the rhythmic passion of a live flamenco show, the experience is one of constant contrast. Under a year-round spring sun, Tenerife remains a premier escape for those seeking both vibrant culture and the quiet majesty of a hidden cove.
Bangkok & Phuket, Thailand
Thailand is a masterclass in contrast, where the exhilarating pulse of Bangkok meets the serene beauty of the Andaman Sea. My journey was defined by these shifts—from the vibrant traditions of the floating markets and golden temples to the shimmering energy of the city at night. It is a place where ancient rituals and modern wonder coexist in perfect harmony.
The true magic, however, was found on the water. Cruising past the dramatic limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay and diving the crystal-clear Similan Sea led to a breathtaking milestone: encountering a whale shark, a rare and awe-inspiring moment in twenty years of diving. From its bustling streets to its tranquil shores, Thailand’s genuine warmth and hospitality leave a lasting impression.
New Zealand: Auckland, Bay of Islands, Christchurch, Dunedin, Tauranga, Wellington & Milford Sound
Our trip across New Zealand was a collection of unforgettable personal highlights that made it one of my favorite destinations. I started by embracing Auckland's nickname, the "City of Sails," spending a glorious afternoon sailing in the Hauraki Gulf and soaking in the skyline from the water. Further south in Dunedin, the historic Taieri Gorge Railway provided a dramatic adventure, winding through rugged, inaccessible gorges with spectacular views at every turn. The most awe-inspiring natural wonder, however, was experiencing the majestic fjords of the Milford Sound, where sheer, rainforest-clad cliffs and cascading waterfalls made cruising the dark waters a truly humbling experience. This unique mix of urban sailing, historic rail journeys, raw natural beauty, and film magic is exactly why New Zealand stole my heart, and I cannot recommend a trip here enough—it's an experience you will cherish forever.
